Questions, answered honestly
What does the Aura showerhead actually filter?
Aura's two-stage system targets chlorine and chloramine — the compounds added to UK mains water — along with sediment and the odours they can carry. It filters the water you already shower with, before it reaches your skin and hair.
Does Aura soften my water or remove limescale?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Aura filters chlorine, chloramine, sediment and odour. It does not remove the dissolved calcium and magnesium that cause hard water, so it isn't a water softener and won't tackle limescale. If softening is your goal, a dedicated softener is the right tool for the job.
How does the two-stage filter work?
Stage one is an Activated Carbon Fibre (ACF) core inside the handle. Stage two is a Vitamin C cartridge inside the showerhead. Water passes through both on its way out — carbon first, Vitamin C second — addressing chlorine, chloramine, sediment and odour along the way.
How often do I replace the cartridges?
Every 60 days. Each refill bundle contains one ACF cartridge and two Vitamin C cartridges — a complete 60-day set. If you're subscribed, your refill arrives automatically, so you never have to think about it.
How does the refill subscription work?
Your first refill ships with your showerhead. After that, a fresh 60-day bundle arrives automatically every 60 days at £XX.XX. There's no minimum term — you can pause, skip or cancel anytime from your account.
Can I cancel or pause whenever I want?
Yes. Manage everything from your account — pause a delivery, skip a cycle, or cancel outright. Cancel before your next 60-day renewal and you simply won't be charged again. No calls, no hoops.
Will it fit my shower?
Aura fits all standard shower arms. It replaces your existing handheld showerhead and connects to the same hose fitting used across the UK.
Do I need any tools or a plumber to install it?
Neither. Unscrew your old head, screw on Aura by hand, and you're done — usually under two minutes. No tools, no tape, no plumber.
Will it reduce my water pressure?
Aura uses a pressure-boost spray plate, so most people notice a stronger, more concentrated spray — not a weaker one — even with filtration in line.
Why does filtering chlorine matter?
Chlorine and chloramine are added to UK mains water to keep it safe to drink — that part is doing its job in the pipes. Aura's role is simply to reduce them at the showerhead, at the point where water meets your skin and hair.
Will I notice a difference in my skin and hair?
We can't promise results — everyone's water, skin and routine are different, so we won't make claims we can't stand behind. What we can share is what customers tell us:
"My skin feels less tight after showering, and my hair isn't as straw-like by the end of the week." — Verified customer
Is there a benefit to staying subscribed?
Yes. Stay subscribed and every year we send you a brand-new replacement showerhead, free — so your hardware stays fresh, not just your cartridges.
How is Aura delivered and how long does it take?
Your order ships from the UK. Standard delivery typically takes [X–X working days], with tracking sent to your email once it's on the way.
What if it's not right for me?
If Aura isn't for you, contact us within [XX days] of delivery and we'll sort out a return. We'd rather you shower with something you actually love.
Is the Vitamin C safe for coloured or treated hair?
Aura filters the shower water you already use — it doesn't add treatments or coatings to your hair. The Vitamin C stage works inside the showerhead on the water itself. If you have specific concerns about a treatment or condition, your stylist or doctor is the right person to ask.
